What’s out there calling you?

Scary, isn’t it

Scary, isn’t itImagine you’re standing on a sandy shore, staring out over an endless ocean. The sun is setting, casting a golden path over the water. Behind you lies everything familiar… your habits, your routines, your comfort zones.

The shore represents what you know, and it’s safe, predictable. But out there, beyond the waves, lies something you can only feel but not yet see: a new horizon calling you to come explore the dream pulling on your heartstrings.

As the waves lap at your feet, you feel a mixture of excitement and fear. This journey into the unknown, whether it’s a new career, a new relationship, or a shift in your spiritual path, asks something from you. It takes courage to reach out for that new horizon. You’ll have to lose sight of the shore.

The thought stirs both intrigue and uncertainty within you even as the waves entice you into the water.

Ask yourself, “What is pulling me to leave this shore behind?”

“What parts of my life, my identity, my story are keeping me anchored here?”

It might be an old belief, a hidden limitation that no longer serves you. Is it a job that lacks joy in the doing, or perhaps it is a way of thinking that limits your growth. Leaving any or all of these behind means releasing a bit of who you are today, trusting that something greater awaits.

Are you willing to venture onto the next leg of your journey and follow the pull of that dream that has been lying dormant in the bottom of your heart?

The ocean in front of you represents change—ever-moving, ever-shifting. Come on, it is calling as the tide tickles your toes to entice you to come swim with it.

The deeper you go, the further you drift from the shore, until you can’t see it at all. Scary, isn’t it?  This is where courage must be more than just an idea; it must be felt in every breath you inhale and with every stroke you take forward.

You know instinctually that the waters may be calm one moment and choppy the next. After all, it is the ocean of all possibilities you have chosen courageously to swim into. So, ask yourself, “What will sustain me in these waters of change?”

You hear very distinctly in the sound of the crashing wave behind you, “It’s your trust—trust in your own persistence and resilience. Trust in your intuition. Trust in the Divine guiding you through. All of this and more is what will keep you afloat.”

There you go…you swim as the sand beneath your feet drops away. You swim deeper into change, into the unknown, trusting that you are headed in the direction you are supposed to be going. Trust.

Know that you will need to release the weight of what no longer supports this new adventure. You’ll need to identify and even develop new skills to navigate your uncertainty with grace. Strength, adaptability, self-compassion, faith… all these will be your lifejacket. They will keep you afloat and swimming when no shore is in sight.

You are almost there, you’re tired, and doubt starts to whisper that all too familiar BS in your ear (you are going to drown, you never should have left the shore, you can’t do this, silly you, remember ‘Tricks are for kids’”).

Swiping at the incessant buzzing in your head, you reach inward for the courage to keep swimming, one stroke, one accomplishment, one challenge met at a time and in the vastness of this ocean, you find a sense of awe, a connection to something far greater than yourself and you allow yourself to surrender to the journey.

You are going to thrive in the success of it, live the 2025 you are swimming for and become part of it all.

You may not yet see the new shore, but you know it’s there. And with each stroke, you get closer to the dream, become more resilient and more aligned with your soul’s path, ready to step into the new dream when you reach land.

When you finally feel yourself in the midst of the horizon you are swimming towards, you realize it is not just a destination but a beautiful reflection of who you are becoming in the waters of change.

The shore you’ve left behind has served its purpose, and the shore you reach is all the more meaningful because you had the courage to let go.

Join me next month and let’s all plan the journey together as we set an intent to swim into the horizon and Thrive in 2025.
