Welcome to 2025

Welcome to 2025

Welcome to 2025Here I am, half way through the first week of a new year and nothing feels different. I am breathing deeply, inhaling the gratitude I feel for all the good, the bad, the ugly and the indifferent, the joy-filled and amazing events of this past week, month, and year.

I am continually surprised at how easy it is for me to go from soaring to sunk, ecstatic to explosive, energized to dead battery.

Do you ever find yourself riding that same roller coaster but hanging on for dear life in between throwing your arms up in absolute delight at the ride?

That has been this year and I start it off with a new right knee and a reaction to the glue or staples (docs not sure) so swollen, hot, itching, draining and drat! With all the experience I have with knee surgeries, you would think, that at least this (hopefully) last one would have been a smooth ride.

Like so much in my life, it starts out so well planned. Get through the holidays and the first of the year, then mid Jan get the knee replaced (only about 10 years of put off and excuses). Phone rings, doc says cancellation opened up a Dec 16 date and I can get‘er done before Christmas. Yeah, I thought.

So here I am on the other side of modern medicines wonderment in that I will be walking again (pain free) in a few more weeks of work and rehab. Turns out the journey is taking a bit of a detour and I am adapting in between the physical, emotional, and energetic struggles to find a new balance between hope and tears, sulking with another piece of pity pie and joy for the coming strength to climb another mountain.

I think I was hoping to drift into 2025 in my wellness canoe and float right into the perfect year I have been envisioning. Maybe I let my guard down, perhaps I just didn’t think clearly, do enough ceremony, say the right prayers… oh heck!

What I found out for sure (and of course have always known), the best laid plans, right? Blah blah blah…

What I do know for sure, is that as long as I live, I am always going to be reminded that just as I am a mere “sprout’, growing on part of this earth plane, so is each new and exciting idea its own “sprout” pushing upwards towards the light and that just as sure as I think “I got it”, Ha! The lawnmower shows up and mows over that great idea.

What I have learned for sure is that challenges and wins are all balanced in the long run and that each carry with it a teaching that I came here to learn. Some are really difficult and take years if not a lifetime to digest while others drift in with a message and blow on through like a gentle summer breeze.

What I will do for sure, is to try more, keep doing me more, speak from my heart more, open the weave on my filters more to allow for a greater understanding of what comes through. In this new year, I will look at what feels undone and ask it if it is meant to be finished or forgotten thanking it for whatever lesson it brought. I will write for me and then set it free. I will love unconditionally, me and thee, and be ever so grateful for every day I have with family, friends, and loved ones.

What I wish for all of you is the absolute glorious best in all your endeavors. May this be the Year of YOU: You first, You matter, You can do it, You got this, You go gang…

And may THE FORCE BE WITH YOU in all you are and do…
