Boys in Trees and Holiday Things

Holiday Happy

I got so busy in getting everything ready to head to AZ, celebrating the first anniversary of You First, finishing module four of Mastering the Art of Putting You First, and getting ready to offer a year end gathering to envision the path into 2023… that I completely forgot to write my Friday message.

I am so grateful for all that I get to do and all that I have an opportunity to be a part of, (The #1 being an amazing family), that well… as humans do, I oopsed – but NO Worries (hahaha), I’m in your email on Tuesday with some food for thought instead of a tidbit of whatever.

What I learned in this past week of Thanks Giving…

…That I have a wonderful, kind, oh so generous, fun, foodie, family.

…That I love AZ in the fall, just not all the traffic.

…That special meals together are more about the stories shared than the food or how or who prepared it (sorry about the burned biscuits). 😊

…That I have a “sister” here in AZ, just a precious as my own in CA and neighbors that are kind, caring, and always have a wave and a smile when you pass. That has made our neighborhood here, feel just like home.

…That four dogs, two boys, four adults, and visitors in and out, made the holiday one of laughter, love, new stories, shared wonder at crimson sunsets and early morning sunrises (I even made it up in time for one of those) 😊

…That I can leave the computer off for four days and not panic at what I should be doing, what needs to get done, or who posted what, where, and how to reply.

…That thirteen-year-old boys still like to climb trees not just Hoverboard, and the ten-year-old still loves to play Candyland as well as Monopoly and Aggravation. Along with their own computer games of course and puppy soccer with the border collie youngster.

I learned to slow down, to allow others to help (I didn’t have to do dishes and others did most of the cooking). We grandmothers got a chance to sit and visit and marvel at our children and their children – pure bliss

This holiday will go down in my books as one of the best EVER, and I owe it all to my family… my family of blood and my family of choice. To you all, I say thank you.

I took a step back from the usual rush to do it all, gave myself permission to not be perfect, and enjoyed the time we all spent together instead of worrying about making it all just right for everyone. Truly a breath of fresh air, literally, I just let it BE. What a great lesson for me!

Sending you all much gratitude for allowing me in your inbox each week.

I hope you all found just what you needed (or wanted) on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday… I sort of missed them all and there were sooo very many everywhere. But I did get a chance to visit with some amazing artists by motoring around town during the annual Hidden in the Hills Studio Arts Tour and Open Houses. Wow! What an awesome community of spectacular artists here in the Cave Creek Area.

May You Find Many Blessings Throughout the Holiday Season to come
