Finding The Magic In Fall And Joy In Creativity

This past week, settling back into routine here at home in CA, has certainly had its challenges. Smoke not only filled the air to block the sun, it slithered through cracks and under doors, it invaded our homes, left a trail of ash across the walkways, the hoods of our cars and painted the changing colors of the leaves with subtle shades of gray.
When I studied with a shamanic teacher, I learned about the ebb and flow of energy in our lives and how it effects not just the physical body, but the emotional, spiritual, and mental body as well. The heavy energy of “the funk” has settled in with the hard to breathe in smoke filled, sun-blocking air. Eyes burn and just want to stay closed let alone read, write or create.
And then it RAINED!!! Oh glorious, wet, wild, and wonderful, so badly needed here in California – RAIN, you came. Thank you!
With the welcome rain came a change in the energy of everything around me. Colors are brighter, the sky blue on blue, the trees smiling and birds singing. I get up to the sound of the cottonwood’s song, the squirrels chatter and the neighbors rooster welcoming the day. I am energized. I want to revel in the coolness of the day, lay in the sun and soak up its rays and write. I am excited to write again and I feel good.
Edits are done on both You First and Get Off the Shelf. Whooppeeeee. My mind turns to the projects ahead as I wait for interior design, cover questions, content layout and all the “stuff” that follows the writing but is all about birthing the stories. I can’t wait to share their LAUNCH with all of you.
I feel freer now to explore the stories that have been knocking at my door, to develop fun projects, more Food for Thought and begin the journey anew, refreshed, re-awakened and excited. I am so glad to be here and so grateful for you all and your notes and your stories and well… JUST GRATEFUL FOR YOU!

Her experience includes being trained in the Harner Method of Shamanic Counseling and the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition of Cross Cultural Shamanism. She is a Graduate Teacher and Mentor with the Lynn Andrews Center For Sacred Arts and Training and has been the Administrator and Writers Guide for Writing Spirit, the School.
Vicki is also an Artist of the Spirit Certified Spiritual and Energetic Life Coach, a Graduate Mentor in the AoS program and a founding member of HeatherAsh Amara’s Warrior Goddess Leadership Team and Facilitator of the Warrior Heart Practice.
