Finicky Eater

Finicky Eater

Finicky Eater

I’ve been hanging out with my sister a lot lately. As a kid, she was a very finicky eater and I am blown away by how much that has changed for her. She is cooking, trying new foods and recipes and finding there are lots of those “ick” foods she turned her nose up as a child that she is enjoying today.

The other day, the handyman failed to show to help her get the remotes on her ceiling fans to talk to the right fan and she dug out the instructions, got the right batteries and said to herself, “I can do this!” And you know what She did.

How often have you limited your experiences by your preconceived notion that you couldn’t, didn’t like it, were too this or that so maybe not?  When was the last time you told yourself, “You will never know until you try?” Give it a shot, what have you got to loose but another “Ick” moment or you end up hiring the handyman. In either case, it is a win-win or you. You either experience something new and even if you don’t care for the outcome or you learn that you can do for yourself what you thought you needed someone else to do for you. Knowledge is power!

I offer you this little nugget of wisdom… There is only one way to discover if you like it or don’t, if you can or you can’t, if you will or you won’t. Like Nike said, JUST DO IT! The only thing you have to loose is an experience, good or bad. It is the sum total of our experiences that make us who we are today. Step out of your “same ol’” and jump onto the “I’ll give it a try” bandwagon. My sister did and the band is still playing.

Have some fun this weekend, make a list of three foods that you always say no thank you to (ick) and give one a try.  Better yet, give all three a try 😊

What will you choose to try this weekend?

Here’s to just doing it,
Vicki
