Focusing Your Intent on the Path Ahead

Focusing Your Intent on the Path Ahead

The Path Ahead
The words keep calling me, but I am not finding a way amongst the distractions, for them to get on to a piece of paper.  Writing every day, or every few days, seems like such an easy concept.  In reality, at least for this past week, I have found it hard to complete, I get pulled down FB rabbit holes or drawn into fabulous IG photos. It is Wednesday evening and I am finally finding my way across the keyboard while listening to “focus for creativity” music on the BrainFM app.

Music always moves me, helps me to sleep, relax, but I haven’t thought about it as a focus for my creative flow and yet, when I think about the times I sit in a quiet house, writing, I remember that there is often music playing on the TV in the room (Dish Network 977 called Aura).  I’m thinking, I have been spending so much time on Canva (which I love creating in) crafting posts for these little windows into my weeks, that I have allowed them to become distractions to the commitment I made to sharing every week for at least a year.

I am sure I am not alone when I begin to reel from the chaos circling our planet, from the everyday things that are changing in my life and the lives of those around the world. I try to get lost in “happy” TV shows, games on my phone, a good book. Life always comes back to remind me that there are things that need doing, thoughts don’t always need thinking, but there are words that need writing.

I find myself saying little snippets of prayers throughout the day, a God Bless or May we find Peace… healing thoughts in contemplation of another’s sadness or loss.  That is something new for me, not the praying part, but the conscious awareness of all the times those thoughts are prayers, those moments of recognition amidst the change become prayers, and how if thoughts are things, then prayers must be real change makers.  I wrote this little thought some months back, then it popped up in a file of “inspirations” I was sifting through looking for words to paint across the blank page. Life is beautiful so must then change be, right? So much to keep balanced; life, love, bodies, being, family, letting go, taking care of, remembering, re-visioning, new stories to unfold and release.

All will be OK and there is no rush. Change is the continuum, living the constant, prayer a welcome partner on the path as my thoughts become things and my words fill the pages of my story.

Great Spirit, God/Goddess, Creator of All that Is, Infinite Source by All names known and unknown, I have heard your whispers, felt your breath kiss my cheek in the evening breeze blowing through the trees. I sit under a cottonwood on a cement bench, barefoot, to feel the heartbeat of The Mother as I watch pink blossoms being replaced by tiny green budding leaves. I am blessed by the sun setting in the western sky blazing orange, pink and crimson reflections across puffy clouds as it says goodnight.  I rest in the knowing that comes with such gratitude for your whispers in the wind. I see it so, amen.

May you find your passion, pursue your purpose, and be blessed each day along the way.

Painting words across this paper as I focus on my journey, mindful of each step I take on the path ahead, I am grateful.
