6 Ways Your Life Can Change When You Adopt an Optimistic Attitude
These past few days, surrounded by the gentle rustle of leaves and the soft murmur of the evenings breeze, I have taken some time in the midst of a creative week, to reflect on this year and the coming one.
This weekend, our country honors its veterans, and I am proud to say that many in my family have served. To them and all who served before, with them and since, I am grateful. Thank you.
I am also reminded that it is important that we honor ourselves along the way. Let us not forget those who paved the way for us, but also remember that we are, each in our own uniqueness, paving the way for those that come behind us.
Choosing you first, making you a priority in your life, is not a selfish act as I have written before. Today, as I reflect back on this week, I am reminded that it is the best foundation for the boundless love I want to share with the world.
Tomorrow I will be doing my first book signing and introducing a fun and inspirational booklet, Wisdom and Wit, a Little Life Book and Journal. And as this is still gratitude month, thank you and blessings to Donna Kozik and Shanda Trofe for helping me birth it out into the world.
I am so very grateful to Tanya and Mike Ubick at Valley Oak Winery in Sanger, CA for the invitation to join them with my books and crafts for The 2023 Fall Harvest Wine Journey from noon to five both Sat and Sun.
If you are in Central California and love to taste great wines, eat delicious foods, visit and shop locally, join in the fun. It’s the perfect time to grab a few bottles of joy for your Thanksgiving meal, gifts to spread the holiday cheer or a new book to snuggle up for a good read by the fire.
This has been a wonderful week of crafting new things and hanging out with my daughter. We have been creating new ones and re-purposing old purses for holiday fun. A dear friend brought me some old ropes (ya gotta love them team ropers) and we have been making holiday wreaths. I haven’t done these in twenty-five years or more. Creativity, both writing and crafting, are what keeps me keepin’ on.
My daughter reminded me the other day, that I don’t have to build another business, I just need to feed my joy and do what makes me happy. Dang, I am always amazed when she reminds me to practice what I teach.
I told her teaching fuels my joy so with that said, I am telling the Universe that I am ready. I have tickled the waters of teaching this past year and am grateful for those asking me to show up once again. I am beginning the calendar for 2024 with the intent to host a small retreat at our place in AZ the first weekend in January – more later.
I am setting my intent to create a shamanic arts weekend, somewhere or many-where’s this next year. The vision is to come together and journey, learn, and delve into ourselves using art and ceremony, writing and crafting, shamanic journey work and stories as our sacred tools of divination and discovery.
Shamanic Creativity is a beautiful and profound concept that intertwines the spiritual essence of ourselves with the boundless potential of our human imagination.
Imagine, if you will, a tapestry of cosmic energies where you serve as the skilled weaver, blending the threads of your imagination and insights with the wonder and beauty of your artistic expression in whatever form that takes. There might even be some drum and rattle making, basket weaving and feather fan creations on the horizon.

She is a Graduate Teacher and Mentor with the Lynn Andrews Center For Sacred Arts and Training and has been the Administrator and Writers Guide for Writing Spirit, the School.
Vicki is also an Artist of the Spirit Certified Spiritual and Energetic Life Coach, a Graduate Mentor in the AoS program and a founding member of HeatherAsh Amara’s Warrior Goddess Leadership Team and Facilitator of the Warrior Heart Practice.
