6 Ways Your Life Can Change When You Adopt an Optimistic Attitude

Happy Wife and Grandma in Happy Gratitude Mode

Welcome to November. I am looking ahead to the family gathering for Thanksgiving as I still giggle at the antics of my grandsons on Halloween. The oldest built a fort out of grown-up size tinker toys, covered it with old sheets, and created a “plate in a window” to hold the candy bowl. It reminded me of the old puppet stages we used to build out of cardboard boxes.

He built it big enough for his nearly 6’ frame to fit in so he could “scare” the hands reaching for the candy bowl. Lots of laughter especially when he put his younger brother’s grim reaper mask on and laid skeleton hands on either side of the orange bowl that was backlit under the candy by a glow stick from a generous neighbor.

The youngest grandson had carved an awesome pumpkin with his Aunt Pamela (see picture)

What a wonderful break from my writing day. Time spent with the kids, grandkids and my sis who opened her house to pizza, family, kids antics and trick ‘r treaters.

All in all, lots to be grateful for this week of the beginning of National Gratitude month.

And I am challenging all of you to a 30-day Gratitude Challenge. Click here for all the details, freebie, and bonus gift from me.

What have you found to be grateful for this week?

From a google search I found that the word “gratitude” originates from the Latin word “gratitudo,” which is derived from the Latin word “gratus,” meaning “pleasing” or “thankful.” In ancient Rome, the concept of gratitude was deeply embedded in the culture, and the Latin term “gratitude” was used to express the quality of being thankful or the act of showing appreciation for kindness or benefits received. Thank you blessed internet for the time you saved me from digging through old encyclopedias.

I have come to know gratitude as a practice and a friend that helps me stay focused on the good and beautiful, the wonder and magic that exists everywhere.

Where does gratitude play a part in your life?

I hope you will take this month of November and put gratitude at the top of your to-do list. Gift yourself the joy of remembering the smallest little thing that you are grateful for each week and the big ones that jump right out there and scatter glitter all over your days.

Can you allow yourself a few minutes each day to write down what you are grateful for and perhaps, why?

Join our free 30-Day Gratitude Challenge and gift yourself a journaling journey.

Here is some food for thought when it comes to “good reasons” for you to start or enhance your gratitude practice:

  • Being thankful has been shown to enhance your mental health: regularly acknowledging and reflecting on things you are grateful for can foster a positive mindset, reduce stress, and promote overall emotional well-being.
  • Gratitude journaling helps shift your focus toward the positive aspects of life thereby promoting a more optimistic outlook and reducing negative thought patterns.
  • Expressing gratitude for the people in your life can strengthen relationships, fostering a deeper sense of connection and appreciation for others.
  • A consistent practice of journaling your gratitude can promote personal growth and appreciation for the journey of your own self-discovery.
  • Acknowledging the kindness of others gifts you the opportunity to develop your own empathy and a greater understanding of the experiences and perspectives of those around you.

With a regular practice of journaling your gratitude, you gift yourself an opportunity for self-reflection and introspection that can lead to a greater understanding of your personal values, dreams, and aspirations.

May you all find love, joy, and gratitude filling this month of thanksgiving.

I am so grateful to have you out there listening to and reading “me” every week…

I am excited to announce my first ever Facebook Challenge and I can’t think of a better time to toss out the gauntlet to all my wonderful friends, followers, and fellow travelers on this writer’s road.
