In The Mirror

In The Mirror

Who Would You See In The Mirror?

Yesterday I watched a super motivating and very inspirational You Tube video done by Trent Sheldon. He said, “Check in with yourself today.  If God came down and stripped you of everything except who he created you to be, when you look in the mirror, would that person be familiar or unfamiliar?”

I don’t know about you, but that just seemed to hit home for me.  I’m writing a new course that is a shamanic take on setting goals.  It has me looking down the path ahead to see where I want to be and what stones I need to put down to get there (figuratively as in letting go and literally as in paving the way).

I got all fired up listening to Trent.  His words spoke to my heart and “woke up” an aspect of me I haven’t visited in a long while.  When it is my time to drop this earth robe and walk on, when I meet my maker, will I recognize “me” in the mirror I stand before?

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote to you all about that one constant in life we can count on, change.  A couple of weeks before that, I wrote about looking ahead, looking towards the completion of 2021 and looking forward to the beginning of 2022.  Have you?

There are eight weeks left in 2021.  Do you have a plan, have you created a map to the destination you are looking towards?  Let’s get to it… Dream it, stalk it, see it, create it, celebrate it.

Go out right now and do what you can do to get yourself on track to be the best you that you see yourself being.  Trent asks in his video, “Are you doing what you can do to meet the greatest version of yourself?”

You know, life can be tough and sometimes we convince ourselves that rough, tough, hard, is how it is supposed to be, how it has always been and will always be.  But, think into that one.  I’ll bet you’ll discover that it hasn’t been hard forever, that the tough gets easier on down the road and the roughness of it all gets smoother when you take that one more step, yes you can do it!  That one more step when you know all of a sudden, you aren’t in that darkness anymore.

When you move into gratitude with those experiences, the tough and the hard ones, you see that good and bad, those moments, days, years, those challenging times have brought you to where you are today, to who you are today.  How can you use those “stones” you have already laid down to pave your way into the “next”… the next week, month, year, the next YOU?

If you walked out of your robes today, what is the legacy you would be leaving, the true story of you not just what you did but who you were? If you are not satisfied in this moment with your answer, then get busy. If you have to disconnect from the world for a bit to reconnect with yourself, do it!

Spend the next eight weeks game-planning, letting go, storing up, make your plans and get ‘em going.  You will start Jan 1 with the train already in motion, the momentum flowing and your best version of YOU already underway. Pull the whistle chain on the You First train and know you can, know you can, know you can climb that hill.  Shout out to Trent Shelton this week for stoking my trains fire.  Whoooot whoooot!

Here’s a little snack to munch on while you digest this weeks food for thought…

  • What three things do you want to accomplish in the coming year?
  • What three things are you ready to release, to leave behind in 2021?

These can be big or little, move across country or move a chair in the living room.  Let go of an unhealthy relationship or give away a stack of books piled high with dust.  Remember, gratitude is the golden key that unlocks the magic… Call out yourself, tell yourself the truth and put YOU FIRST in 2022.  Today is the first day of your next year!

In joy,
Vicki
