Looking down the road towards 2022
They put their heads together and wondered… “Do we wander?”
They looked at each other, “Do we dare move into that light coming from inside the cave?”
Questioning but knowing each other so well, they linked arms and followed the pull of their own curiosity, setting aside their doubt and fear. Trusting, they wandered in wonder into the unknown, into the mystery that holds all possibility, and they entered the cave.
I’ve been feeling as though I was standing at the entrance of this “cave of all possibility” for some time now. I have ventured in just a little way, just enough to feel the safety of those first few steps. Now I look around and wonder, what lays ahead? Where will this “light” lead me?
I’ve read in other places that this subtle and tender place, this vulnerable and scary place, can be a threshold, a place of re-emergence you might say. I have come full circle with You First, even experiencing putting myself there when it is still so unnatural. I am working to keep myself standing in this space of possibility as I move into the energy of the book that started it all, Get Off the Shelf, wondering, questioning, can I really finish this one too?
Feeling a little shaky, a little emotional, I pick up the keyboard and pull up the email containing the interior design edit from the publisher. As it opens, I recognize words long ago written and stories that are waiting to be told. This is the vulnerable place that sometimes traps the inspiration in fear of WOPT (what other people think). It is also a place of so much power, of creativity and of joy. Here is where my addiction kicks in and I get excited to be writing again even though it is really editing I am doing, it is the creative process that begins once again to fuel my joy.

Seeing 2021 drawing to a close, what do you need to conclude, bring to fruition, or kickstart into the next year? Are you ready?

Her experience includes being trained in the Harner Method of Shamanic Counseling and the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition of Cross Cultural Shamanism. She is a Graduate Teacher and Mentor with the Lynn Andrews Center For Sacred Arts and Training and has been the Administrator and Writers Guide for Writing Spirit, the School.
Vicki is also an Artist of the Spirit Certified Spiritual and Energetic Life Coach, a Graduate Mentor in the AoS program and a founding member of HeatherAsh Amara’s Warrior Goddess Leadership Team and Facilitator of the Warrior Heart Practice.
