My Year Is Running Faster Than I Can Keep Up…

opposites balanceCan you believe it is the end of September already? Where has this year gone, and can I slow it down a bit to breathe into these last few months?

The pumpkins are ripe, the county fairs are happening everywhere, the leaves are thinking about changing as the days grow shorter even as the temperatures rise back into triple digits here in the San Joaquin Valley.

If you are in the Southern Hemisphere, spring is about to explode all over you while here on the other side of the world, the harvest is in full swing or done in some cases.

As you gather the bounty of this year’s harvest, what plans are you making for the new seeds you will sow in the coming months, year?

We are approaching the time of moving within, of preparing for quieter, slower times ahead as we have passed the time of balanced light and watch as the days grow shorter and the nights longer.

Where are you on your path through this year? Are you ready to ignite the fires of inspiration to warm your fall evenings and carry you through the winter stillness?

This past week has been one of yin and yang, chaos and calm, frustration and elation, gratitude and prayer. I have come to realize that in my own fast paced and often unchoreographed world, creativity and friendship keeps me centered.

When everything changes, I take a deep breath. When frustration throws closed doors that were once always open, I take a deep breath. When opportunity knocks (as scary as it often feels), I say yes and take a deep breath.

The best laid plans, you know… of mice and men…

Ha! What a roller coaster of wonderful and scary, of aggravation and celebration, of friendships held close, some let go, and new ones held dear to the heart.

The world she is a-changing.

May love guide you into the changing seasons, gratitude always be your companion, and your truth be your constant light along the way.
