Processing and Learning, Every Day in So Many Ways

Find Your Balance

Do you ever get the feeling that you will never get it all right, that there is so much to learn, so much new that keeps coming up, so much changing, not even every day, but every minute it seems.

As you all know  I am in the midst of two campaigns. My calendar got out of touch with my rational mind and voila’ – an Epic Experts Giveaway.

AND

Launching my virtual New Year Goals and Dreams Planning Program, Stalking 2023.

I’m excited (creativity always fuels my joy), exhausted tracking, planning, writing, and promoting, but I LOVE it… and I am so grateful to be able to do something that fills my time with creative adventures, new conversations, and shared stories. When you all gift me with a response and one of your own stories, my heart overflows with gratitude.

BUT… all that being said, guess who has gotten back on the first rung of that ladder up to the top of the ol’ shelf? Yep – me! I let all I had to do (or thought I had to do) overtake what I wanted or needed to do. The good news is that by writing the good, hopeful, joy-filled times, I remember how to take that step back when the poop hits the fan or when the muck gets too deep to take safe steps. I know my way off that ladder a lot sooner for the work that I have done and the writing that keeps me sane.

  • Do you have a practice for bringing yourself back to you?
  • Do you speak up for yourself when the poop hits the fan?
  • When is the last time you took a breath and looked at where you are and where you want to be?
  • Do you have a dream?

It feels like I am always in the process of learning something new or developing some new or underused “talent”. Sometimes it is time to let go of the stuff I’ve always done. This is the time of the year when I try to look into the “crystal ball” to discern where I have been, what has worked or didn’t, what I want and need to be my happy me, and what I need and want to do to get there.

What is my new threshold for happy?

Balance for sure is at the top of the list. When you are a recovering procrastinator, it is easy to put off, wait until tomorrow and often tomorrow never comes. Balance in the doing and being is my biggest challenge and part of that is because I am still learning what being me truly means.

Change usually throws me out of balance. Fine tuning one aspect of living can often throw the others out of whack ‘til I find that balance that feeds both equally or in a portion that best serves me. When I can recognize that I am overcompensating or undercompensating, that swinging of the pendulum from underdoing to overdoing. That is when I find my way back to the middle, to balance, and to me.

The key here as I write this, is to remember that I have tools to help me with this process and that remembering to open the toolbox is one of my biggest challenges.

In the end, when the pendulum rests comfortable in the center, balance is restored, inside and out.

May you find the peace and comfort that comes with balance and enjoy a most wonderful holiday season.
