Scenery, Senses, and a New Moon

Scenery Senses and the New Moon

So, home again, home again, where to begin…

This week we are gifted the energy of the New Moon. It is a time to rest, to retreat, to go within. Today we are at the tail end of this new moon energy, but it is still a perfect time to set your intentions.

This time of the month is about “beginnings”. With a new moon, it can be a time for you to map out the journey ahead – set your goals and speak aloud your intentions. Let the Universe know where you are going, how you plan to get there, and what this next month’s destination is to be.

As I shared last week, the best laid plans can still go awry, even with the best of intentions. What I discovered was that I could be spontaneous, I could mosey off in any direction I chose as long as the path was leading me home.

I had to come home early, and the pivot stirred some emotions that I don’t much care for. But I gifted myself a day on Mt Shasta with a wonderful Corsican shaman friend and a new friend from the event who showed up there on her journey back to Ottawa via San Francisco International Airport.

I have been to Mt Shasta several times, passing through or taking classes. What I had never done, was spend anytime on the mountain herself. Josianne took us to a wonderful spot overlooking the valley and Panther Meadows and there, on the bluff were two amazing labyrinths. One was a large spiral in and out, the other two opposite smaller spirals connected by tail of each swirl connecting in what felt like an infinity walk.

We saw butterflies and grasshoppers, scampering squirrels and raucous ravens. Sylvie even caught a glimpse of an eagle passing. Deer crossed our paths and all in all, a magical day on this sacred mountain.

Walking the labyrinth, I contemplated this space and chose to move within on the walk. What is my purpose on this journey, in the pivot, on the long solitary drives through old forests winding my way back and forth across rivers and down crowded freeways?

What I came to discover was that I still can…I can still strike out on my own and find friends, old and new to create joy filled memories. What I came to know was the importance of listening to that one still voice that said pivot.

The wisdom I choose to share is that in any place, at any time, for any reason, you can pivot and not get lost. You will, with the right intentions, find the people, places, and things that are perfect blessings along the way.

Journaling became my friend on this trip. I think I may have discovered a new language if I can be still enough to decipher it for myself, to “hear” the messages.

Allowing for the space to pivot, to go within, to follow what I can only call Divine Guidance, has gifted me with a new sense of power and purpose… I am not too old to… or … and in spite of, even … (you fill in the blanks).

  • How can you step into your power in this new moon cycle of new beginnings?
  • Can you listen to your intuition without question when a pivot moment comes?
  • What might you do that would push you out of your comfort zone and into the spectacular, the magic and the mystery of all possibilities?

Gift yourself some quiet time and move into these questions to “see” what the path ahead holds for you. Take some time and move into the center of you and counsel with your own Divine Guidance (and of course any other of the myriad of wonderful counselors, allies, helping spirits and guides that love and support you always).

And As Always, Happy Trails My Friends… Journey On!
