Sometimes The Only Way Out Is Through…

I’ll bet you all think I had this past week, this launch that happened, all the “stuff” that went on, goes on and keeps on going… under control and all planned out, on a calendar, prepared, right?

NOT… Every day and sometimes several times a day, life would jump in the way of the best laid plans, remember what I wrote last week?  Well, as my dear friend is fond of saying, “When you make a bid for power, Power tests you.” This week has been a test! A test of my commitment to me, to this whole process of completing one dream to make room for the next. A test of my ability to ask for help (and boy did I learn how to ask!!!) My commitment to stay the task when all I really wanted to do was crawl back under the covers and wish it all would happen without me having to do another blessed thing.

Even Wednesday, as I write this, I am without internet service after a blustering, windy storm of dry lightning and thunder, last night and early this morning. We have electricity but Xfinity is down out here where I live. There was a small fire a couple of miles away and Verizon doesn’t work well in our neighborhood, so my hotspot is a no go.

I hit the proverbial wall Monday night and figured, it’s all good. What I don’t have done, I’ll figure out and darned if it didn’t all just end up fine. But I didn’t do it alone!

Bless the circle of family/folks that I have chosen or who have chosen me. Every time I wanted to give up, someone said, “I can do that, you do the next thing, the one that you enjoy doing,” (like creating in Canva). I could create and then sleep.

There is so much to this process of being an Author that goes sooooo far beyond the writing, beyond the living of it all, hell! Just living… that I want to say, to yell, out loud, on a mountaintop…

DON’T GO IT ALONE!

Find your crew, your circle, your team, your support system and your encouragers; the ones who hold you to your goals, that hoist you back on your feet when you collapse. Let them empower you with their talents and the goodness of their hearts. Be open to reaching out to the professionals, the ones that have paved the path ahead, the ones that have been there, done that. Don’t waste years trying to figure it all out on your own. Not only is that a lonely way to go, even to live, but it is so unfulfilling, exhausting, brain draining and inspiration sucking.

I wish I could get up on a mountain top and yell out to the world, all the Universe to hear, the names of ALL THOSE who stand behind me as I stand before you a brand new International Best Seller!

Yep, it happened, WE did it, not just me, but all of you in this amazing circle of family, friends and dedicated, wonderous, marvelous writers, teachers, and professionals. I didn’t do it alone, it took this village, this community of committed and generous people to open doors, sometimes drag me through, teach me and listen to me.

A life lesson for us all… don’t go it alone. Find your community, even if it is a virtual one (and that is a powerful circle indeed) and reach out, connect, touch someone, listen to another, SMILE a lot (online and in person). I am one shining example that you can push through the heavy s**t that tries to hold you down. I am here to tell you that the ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH, but don’t go it alone.

I am filled with more gratitude than I could write about in a month of Sundays and yet, in the final chapter of this saga (that never ends but circles back again), I say THANK YOU.

See you in the bookstores, in the grocery store or in a group or on a page, through a post and into tomorrow… I’ll be there, waving and smiling and remembering all of you along the way.

On to the next project, I am resting, rested, refilled, replenished, rejoicing and remembering…Get Off The Shelf
