Tuesday morning I had a wonderful interview with Mark Ireland, who’s newest book, The Persistence of the Soul, has brought up so many memories of my own soul’s connections as he shared his story of connecting with the other side, synchronicities and messages from beyond the veils.
From hawk feathers to rainbows and quarters, my loved ones have left me hints of their presence all around. Do you have a soul connection with loved ones that have passed or heard those whispered memories as they float by?
I went out walking last night and found myself listening in a deeper way. I could sense the presence of my ancestors around me, and I am still as I write. I watched and I listened to the whispers of the wind telling me that I am the result of the love of generations of love, and I remember those I have loved and those who loved me.
We don’t always see things the way they are. Our personal filters often show us things the way we are. Can you believe in the unseen and trust the unknown as though it were in front of you and proven?
What I have come to know in my own way, is that when I am still enough, trusting enough, and bold enough to just ask… answers do appear. And sometimes, the answers show up long before there is a question, and prove to be right when the question arises.
My husband went shopping for a bottle of whiskey in December last year. Our son was a December baby and the National Finals Rodeo is always around his birthday. So back to the grocery store, no Crown to be found so hubby asked for assistance and was led to a locked cabinet where they had a large (dare I say BIG) bottle of Pendleton.
Since it seemed it was all that was available at the time, hubby said, “Sure, I’ll take it,” and headed to the checkout counter, bottle in hand. When the clerk picked up the bottle to ring it through, she asked if he wanted the belt buckle on it? “What buckle?” hubby queried.
“The one right here on the neck of the bottle,” she answered showing him a silver NFR promotion buckle wired right on the bottle. “No,” he answered. “I’ll take it.” And off he went to the car.
About a half hour later I called from AZ to check in with him and he excitedly told me, “You’re not going to believe what just happened!”
He shared with me the buckle story and how he knew it was Ryan tickling his heartstrings (my words not his) and how he hadn’t even seen it when the bottle was handed to him. Would you believe he supports Pendleton now instead of Crown? 😊
Long story short, he has a soul connection with our son and heard the whispered memory sent by our rodeo kid who is on the other side.
The persistence of the soul… I have so many stories that I am documenting like so many who lose love and search for answers that may never come.
The beauty is that those of us who can let go of the grief long enough to let hope live alongside it, release anger and make room for joy, or step away from the longing and allow for the living, may just be able to hear those whispered memories from our souls’ connections.
