Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

Who’s up for a wild ride? Matterhorn? Space Mountain? Am I dating myself? (I haven’t been to the magical kingdom in nearly 40 years).

I am writing this week’s message to you in early May while still at the house in AZ. My amazing virtual assistant Marsha is going on vacation, and I don’t have a clue how to do what she does for me. She is awesome (thank you thank you Marsha). I couldn’t be in you all’s inboxes or online each week without her.

I have been involved in a pilot program called Voice to Impact, learning how to “be on” camera and use that technology to send my stories a little farther out into the Universe.  It is quite the trip, I must say. If I want to look at you, as though I were talking directly to you, in a zoom gathering, I must look in to that tiny dot on the top of the phone or the laptop, and that is not where I see you looking back at me. If I focus on who I am speaking to, they don’t see me looking at them, I am looking away or down or to the side… trippey to say the least. My apologies if I appear to be drifting away, I am really there with you, I am just looking AT you instead of at the camera.

I was a featured speaker on a Summit last week and I have to tell you, my comfort zone needs expanding. I found myself bouncing off worry walls and butting up against that ol’ familiar “what if” fence that tries to surround me when I want to stretch me.

If you ask me to come hang out with your group, sit on the edge of the table, and talk to you all, no problem (though I might ‘worry’ about what I was wearing 😊). Interesting how doing the exact same thing, virtually, had my tummy in a tight wad.  By the time you read this, it will be over and hopefully, I will be on my way to comfortable sitting on the edge of that table virtually “chatting” some of these little weekend morsels I am sending out for you to chew on each week.

There were some fascinating speakers who shared their sacred stories live and out loud. It was a joy to sit in sacred space with these wonderful women and thank you Donna Kozik for your wisdom, your endless sharing of all that you know for us to learn, and for holding the container for this journey. Our voices matter, YOUR voice matters.

May you find the right words for every message you want to speak, and may you find the connections you are seeking, in-person or on the other side of the camera’s lens.  Knowledge is endless and there is such power in our words. We speak every day into being!

Blessings one and all.
