That Spiderweb Trap of Resistance

That spiderweb trap of resistance

I wrote the quote on the painting a couple of weeks ago and never followed through with finishing the thoughts behind it. I got caught up in that spiderweb trap of resistance. Crawl out one side and you get stuck as you try to crawl through the web of distractions, of life, of poor me’s and I don’t want to, I think I’ll have a cookie.

I’m trying to finish the edit for my upcoming book Get Off The Shelf and on the second round, it felt out of balance and I find myself rearranging the entire second half of the book. I thought it was done, and it would be released the end of September. But I guess Spirit and the driving force of the story have a different game plan.

Yesterday as I released resistance, I was able to get through the first eight chapters that just required a good eye and a more simple edit. My goal now is to get through the last eight rearranged chapters so I can at least feel the energetics, how it flows and if the story feels complete in its new form. Time will tell but I’m letting’ ya all know I’m betting’ on me once again and giving you all permission to hold me accountable for completing this edit.

Resistance is a big teacher. I have even used these edits as an excuse to put off other things; an annual physical, a trip to the dentist, another check on the scales. Resistance has become too familiar, an excuse overused and one I am going to work on not becoming addicted to. Resistance is real and I acknowledge that as I write this, but I am taking back its power to derail my dream.

Where do you find resistance directing your days? Do you wake up in the morning resisting the sunshine and the day ahead? Do you go to bed at night resisting sleep? What are you putting off today that could’ve been done yesterday?

Dr Phil says that “The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things losers don’t want to do.”

Please share your stories with the rest of us… either respond to this email or post where you find this story. Let’s support each other in moving through resistance. Let’s follow Dr. Phil’s prescription…”If it feels awkward,do it. You just behave your way to success.”

To your success with many blessings,
Vicki
