Today is the Tomorrow You Dreamed About Yesterday

Moonlight Magic Dreams Imagined“Tomorrow we will be living through what we imagine today.”

I saw this quote on Facebook and it reminded me of a saying often attributed to Dale Carnegie, “Today is the tomorrow you dreamed about yesterday.”

One of those things that makes me go hmmmm… did I really dream this yesterday? Cause if I did, I think the Universe misinterpreted my dream or I was “sleeping” when I dreamed it. I’m not sure today is the plan I had yesterday. So now what?

I get the wisdom of intention shaping my future. I understand that what I focus on is generally what I end up with and that my” thoughts are things” as Andy Dooley would remind me.

On some level, I understand that the thoughts I hold, the stories I tell myself, and the dreams I dare to dream are the stuff of my tomorrows, but where does all the chaos, sadness, grief, anger, resistance, doubt, depression, frustration, and fear come from? Am I dreaming all that up too and why, for heavens sake, would I want to do that? Go figure.

If my mind is such a fertile garden for my tomorrows, where did all the weeds come from? Did they blow in on a west wind, get thrown over a fence from someone else’s garden, or did I inadvertently miss them when I was preparing my garden in the first place, leaving space for them to grow in between the beautiful flowers and juicy fruits?

I think I have underestimated the power of my imagination. I have been caught up in the daily “busy” as I like to call it but truth is, life keeps throwing me curveballs and I am tired of ducking. It has gotten easier to just lay down and watch it all “fly” by; the curve balls, the harvest moon through flowering trees, cool morning relief from the summers intense heat… I am missing the beauty as I duck the curve balls focused on what’s coming next instead of basking in the glory of a crimson sunset.

Truth be told, when I get sucked into that familiar old rabbit hole of what if’s, whys, should ofs and could ofs, I find those situations are just mirroring my own inner anxieties.

On the other hand, when I make space for sacred creativity (I made a drum for a friend last week), I remember how full of joy each day can be, the abundance that is everywhere, and the love that grows with the opportunities, connections and magical synchronicities that align when I bring those visions into being.

If I practice what I preach 😊 then I cannot be a passive observer of my life, I must be an active participant in it. Yes, I’ve said it before…I have to Get Off the Shelf to create the ripple of consciousness that attracts similar vibrations to the dream I hold dear and bring it all back into form as my own experience.

Yep! I have to take responsibility for my own dream, my own experiences, and ok, my own thoughts and things.

Today I see with clear eyes, hear with open ears, and feel into the sacred act of creation through the power of my own thoughts and prayers. I see myself as the person I want to be and listen to the voice of my own spirit aligning myself with the outcome I imagine.

I am planting the seed in the fertile ground of my subconscious mind, allowing that there will be some weeding that will need to be done along the way.

My garden, my imagination, my choice, my hoe, my intention, my vision.

Inspired action aligned with my highest vision builds the bridge between the inner world of my thoughts and the outer reality of my things manifest for and with me.

IMAGINE the life you want to live, not just the material aspects of it, but the deeper experience of that life, of living it.

How do you want to feel? What kind of relationships do you want to cultivate? What work will bring you joy and fulfillment? Where does creativity play in your garden of greatness?

I know that life is an ever-evolving process, and some change can be a real bear to deal with. Is it time to plant some different seeds, grow more colorful flowers, richer fruits, succulent veggies?

What I have come to know is that what I imagine today is not only shaping my tomorrows, but it is contributing to the collective reality we all share. I choose joy, hope, faith, family, friends, tribe…

I can see my imagination becoming not just a personal tool for the enhancement of my own life but a sacred act of service to my family and the world around me.

By seeing the world filled with kindness, compassion, and unity, I help manifest it to be so.

What do you say? Join me in being a conscious creator, DREAM BIG, plant glorious seeds and know that every tomorrow is built on the foundations you lay in your mind and heart today.

Opening a new package of magnificent seeds and pulling weeds to make a place for these scrumptious dreams to blossom.
