Lately, I’ve been thinking about the choreography and wisdom woven through the quiet in between. That space between one thought and the next, the breath between a question and the answer.
It’s the moment after an idea flickers through my mind, before I try to name it, shape it, or decide what it’s supposed to become.
I think inspiration often arrives from sources outside me; the tv shows I watch, the books I read, my grandkids, but it never arrives as a brilliant idea fully formed and ready to be written, painted, built, or brought to life.
My own inspirations rarely behave that politely. They tend to wander in while I’m staring out a window, driving down a familiar road, or standing in a room wondering why I walked in there in the first place. Sometimes it doesn’t arrive as an idea at all.
Sometimes it just begins as a feeling, a restlessness, a curiosity. I’ll hear a whisper that says, There is something here.
Perhaps my imagination doesn’t kick in with the words I eventually write or the pictures I create. Maybe it begins in the quiet before the words, in the unseen space where memory, longing, wonder, and possibility begin moving together like a choreographed piece I cannot yet see.
One thought reaches for another, a forgotten memory steps forward. A question turns slightly and reveals an answer from a new perspective. Something within me recognizes a possibility before my logical mind has caught up with my imagination.
Today, I’m paying attention to the quiet in between, trusting there may be wisdom moving there gently choreographing the next step, the next thought, or perhaps the beginning of something I haven’t yet imagined.

Vicki is also an Artist of the Spirit Certified Spiritual and Energetic Life Coach, a Graduate Mentor in the AoS program and a founding member of HeatherAsh Amara’s Warrior Goddess Leadership Team and Facilitator of the Warrior Heart Practice.
