Wildfire and Wild Fires

Wildfire and WildfiresThis has been a week of coming back for me. Slowly but surely, my energy is returning, and my creativity is beginning to bloom again as I work on the third episode of a limited  series podcast I am dreaming into being.

I have been binge watching a Netflix series called Wildfire. Many of you may know it is all about life. drama, disaster, grief, joy, love, sex, and horses. I started it to watch the story about a horse called Wildfire and it wasn’t long before I realized that the title could be a worthy study of life.

Not only is California dealing with another summer of wild fires, life sometimes feels like it is just a series of fires that keep cropping up, interrupting and disrupting peace and joy in my world.

In one of my sleepless late night brain blizzards, these words, Wildfire and Wildfires popped in. Grabbing the trusty cell phone from the side of the bed, I wrote them in my Notes app along with these musings that followed right along:

  • Setbacks and comebacks
  • Resilience and hope
  • Death and rebirth
  • Transformation

Perhaps at some point, I will use each of these as a writing prompt and expand the comparisons as they show up in my world. For now, though, I think it is enough that I was able to record the thoughts as they arose freeing me to fall back to sleep.

A few days later, HeatherAsh Amara wrote in her Daily Spark: “…just like fire, which both nourishes and destroys, we need to honor both the constructive and destructive aspects of our creativity. The creative fire of destruction can be sudden and unwelcome. But it can also be something that we move towards as a means of clearing for a New World of possibility. How have you been dampening your creativity by not letting the fires of destruction help you release the old.”

Her words were so perfect for what I had been feeling and going through lately, that it is the perfect close to this short and sweet episode of Wisdom Whispers your Friday Food for Thought.

And I will leave you with the quote she started her Spark with: “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” ~ Stephen Hawking

May you all find your way back from the setbacks, stay strong and hold on to hope, let go to make room for what is waiting to be born and revel in the transformation that takes place in the process.

Happy Trails..
