Write On…

Write on..
Do you remember the soundtrack for the TV series Rawhide…it’s is running through my memory banks this morning while I am writing… only the words changed.

Sing along  😊

Writing writing writing
Hear the keyboard typing
Write Onnnn,
Rain or wind or weather
Words just flow together
Storms keep words a movin’ on
Type em up, edit out
Re-write it now, write on
All those words a stewin’
Them stories they’re a brewing
Just waiting for the end of the book
Write on……..

Watching Gil Favor heading up the herd (of words in my picture) and Rowdy Yates (aka Clint Eastwood) bringing up the rear (as in pushing the words on). Sorry, the silly moment took me away, giggles and grins with cowboy memories.

Here is Central California, we are experiencing wonderful rain and more rain followed by sunshiny days and rain. There has never been so much snow on the hills around us and oh, the beauty and the danger in it all. I have friends who can’t get out of their houses, others whose roofs threaten collapse, and all this amazing water swelling rivers and gorges to unmatched magnificence and lost runoff to the sea.

My writing resilience got tested a bit as I dove into my writing while shut in by the rain. Involved in another of Donna Kozik’s E-Book in a Weekend events, this time it was with a book buddy for the first time. Having a writing friend to bounce ideas off and to give and receive encouragement really sparked an energetic flow that just seemed like the rain, pouring.

I’m writing now in the dark of night. It’s that quiet time in between slumber and waking where my thoughts wander into the world of possibilities and I wonder what lies ahead on the path of all these words that want to move out in my world. Sometimes I wonder where they are going, who are they going to? It’s almost like a game. I write and I release, and I wonder as I wander through the dark and quiet stillness of a sleeping house.

I am so grateful for the water, for the greening hillsides and blossoming trees. I am blessed to be able to experience the beauty and majesty of these storms and except for the 12 hours without power one day, and a hit and miss outage here and there, we are safe, warm, well-fed, and happy (and grateful for those little portable power banks that kept my cell phone charged so hubby could listen to Sportscenter, his white noise).

My prayers this season to all those who are dealing with too much of and not enough of. May it balance out in your world as the days tick on. May your coming week be filled with sunshine and blue skies, puffy white clouds and great vistas of snow-covered mountains, rushing rivers, green trees and budding flowers in the crisp fresh air of all that has been washed away.

Here’s to a vibrant Spring. Happy Trails
