Year Three Begins… My Heart Sings

Year Three Begins… My Heart Sings

“Listen to your heart,” I hear as I wonder how these past two years have flown by and how I am where I am, wondering what I am writing and to or for whom? I find it hard to believe that it has been two years, 104 weeks of inspiration, stories, quotes, prompts, my journey intermixed with yours… the good, the bad, and the always present you and me.

Jean Shinoda Bolen writes, “To know how to choose a path with heart is to learn how to follow intuitive feeling. Logic can tell you superficially where a path might lead to, but it cannot judge whether your heart will be in it.”

As I celebrate the beginning of the third year of Friday Food for Thoughts, I remember how I wondered what on earth I would write about every week. What did I have to say that anyone would want to read. I decided to try for one month, then it was three, then it was six and I was amazed when I hit a year. It occurs to me that when I, or any of us, step out of the confines of our ordinary lives, the everyday definitions we have for ourselves, we have this wonderful ability to expand into a greater knowingness of ourselves within our own world, even our universe.

When we jet out of our comfort zone into that realm of all possibility, we are connecting into that invisible realm of Spirit and all that is seen and unseen. We can join forces with that which we cannot describe, for resources, support, and encouragement along the way.

All it takes is a little faith in YOU. You are so much more than I would imagine you believe yourself to be, and it is all out there waiting for you. As I used to tell my leatherworking customers, “your imagination is my limit.” So I say to you, when you believe, you will achieve, and your only boundary is your imagination.

We are just past the Solstice time this year and along with celebrating the first birthday of my book, Get Off the Shelf, I am celebrating creativity in all forms. This new moon time of expansion I vowed to keep going, to keep writing, to keep creating sacred art and tools, to keep taking pictures of the light in all things animate and inanimate. I want to remember who I am becoming as I let go of who I have been and step into who I want to be.

Join me?

Let’s celebrate for the sake of celebrating, joyously, boisterously, laughing and crying happy tears as we harvest the fruits and veggies we have planted this year and begin to envision the winter garden. I know, it is 100 degrees outside, and I am talking about planting for this winter. But, here’s the thing, there has to be a plan, a road map so to speak. What do you need to have ready, to take with you on the journey and just as importantly, what do you need to let go and leave behind. Gather the seeds, pull the weeds, toil the soil and make it ready as the planning for the planting begins.

Here’s to celebrating and planning the path ahead.

Happy Trails and Thank you to all of you who have come along on the journey with me these past two years… here’s to many more…
