In stillness, there is the opening for flow…

The Ebb & Flow of LifeIn the ebb and flow of the ocean, a wave rises and falls, rolls up onto the sand and retreats back into the vastness of the sea.

Riding the waves, we are carried through ‘life,’ to the crest of a North Shore type wave and onto the beach in the ripple of a returning wave.

Can you see yourself riding one of those epic waves, high on the crest and into the curl propelled through life’s ups and downs, into places you may ‘wipe out’ or through the curl flipping back into the foam and riding right onto the shore of success.

Riding that successful wave is not a passive experience but rather one of attention, intention, and awareness.

This past week has challenged me to stay on my board; shifting, leaning, bending with the breaks, flexible and doing everything I have to do to stay upright and in the flow of the wave.

It is futile to resist it, useless to go against it and unproductive to tip up the front of my board and swing out of it. There is just another wave coming right behind the one I’m on, fighting.

There is a flow in the movement of water whether through the rapids of a raging river, the cresting of an epic wave or simply floating on the surface of a quiet moment.

I am practicing breathing and when the rip pulls me under, I surrender and relax into the knowing that I will float to the surface and not fight the tide. When I ride the epic one to victory and a sweet shore, I celebrate the ride and move quietly into the flow, ready for the next wave to carry me away or slap me to the sand.

The love and support I receive from this circle sustains and feeds me and I am grateful beyond words. The sun sets golden on the ocean waves this evening and I am fed by the glow, standing in the flow, ready for the rising sun and the next wave to take me where I need to go.

These words found their way off the tip of my pen this morning… may they encircle your hearts with the gratitude that fills mine.

Swirling hearts contain a love everlasting. Tiny rocks found hold memories of loves endless joy.

The waves remind me of the continuing journey; the ebb and the flow, the ceaseless march upon the beach.

One storm after another, each pass by leaving new sand, new stones, new shells and sticks upon the sand, gifts left by the tides holding stories of their own, their journey and the transformation they have moved through from where they were, to where they have been found.

I’m left remembering circling hearts and endless love in the ebb and flow of the ocean of life.

Many blessings.
